Today we rewind the tape to tell you the origins of the Pappagalle armchair-bed.
The first project dates back to the 1970s by the famous Tuscan architect Tiziano Lera .
The objective was to create an easily transformable object with a dual function: on the one hand an armchair with a refined design , on the other a comfortable bed that can be used in any type of situation.
A cutting-edge product that already looked at the habits of current generations.
In 2017, with a collaboration with the Libera Accademia delle Belle Arti of Florence , the Pappagalle project was re-edited by Marco and Giulio Mantellassi for a modern redesign of the armchair-bed .
First of all, a new padding is studied, replaced with more modern materials capable of guaranteeing comfort in the two situations of use, the transformability and non-deformability of the object at the same time.
Secondly, the research focused on the covering of the Pappagalle for its presentation in the Barbour version .
The objective was to redesign and rejuvenate a historic and designer piece of furniture with a version that recalls an iconic item of clothing and with a very recognizable style.
In this rendered image you can see the first environmental project of the Pappagalle redesigned with modern padding materials and coverings , presented in the two usage solutions, armchair and bed .
A design object with a vintage soul but with a very youthful and fashionable appearance that we think can give a nice personality to your environment.
And what do you think?
